Partners meeting around laptops in a modern office

Partner and dealer portal in HubSpot

Recipe / Portals

Partner and dealer portal in HubSpot.

Partners need to register a deal and see its status. They do not each need a paid Sales seat. This recipe uses a custom object, a form, and a gated page.

  • Function: Sales
  • Hubs: Sales, Content
  • Tier: custom objects required
  • Complexity: custom build

The problem

Channel managers collect deal registrations by email. Duplicates appear, credit fights follow, and the partner never sees what happened next.

Where it stops

HubSpot is not a full partner-relationship suite. Commission calculation, complex price books, and a unique login per dealer employee usually need an app or an external portal. This recipe covers registration, ownership, and status.

What you use

  • Custom object: Deal registration
  • Associations to company and deal
  • A form on a membership page
  • A workflow that assigns the channel owner and opens a task

Build steps

  1. 1

    Create the registration object

Properties: partner, end customer, product family, estimated value, status. Associate it with the partner company and, once accepted, with a deal.

  2. 2

    Publish one form

Put it on a Content Hub page limited to a partner list. Do not expose the internal deal pipeline on that page.

  3. 3

    Route and reply

Workflow: set status to New, assign the channel manager, and email the partner a received note. A second workflow flips status when the deal stage changes.

  4. 4

    Give partners a status view

A filtered report or a private dashboard embedded on the same page. Show their registrations only.
